Why is it important to take care of our words?

Answer from the V.M. Samael Aun Weor.

The perfect man speaks words of perfection. The Gnostic student who wishes to follow the Path must become accustomed to controlling his language. He must be charitable with the pious use of words.

For example, he who criticizes another's Religion, or another's School, or another's sect, is not charitable with words. In reality, he is cruel and merciless... It is not what enters the mouth that harms man, but what comes out! The mouth produces insult, intrigue, defamation, slander, hatred... All of these are what harm man!... All Religions are precious pearls strung on the golden thread of Divinity. But we must avoid all kinds of fanaticism, because with this we cause great harm to man, to our neighbor. Not only do we hurt others with rude words or with fine and artistic ironies, but also with the tone of the voice, with the inharmonious, arrhythmic accent.

Samael Aun Weor. Excerpt from the book: Logos Mantra Theurgy.

Answer from the magazine "The The wisdom of the Being.".

The verb is the light that illuminates every man who comes into the world. So the sound influences us, the sound is universal vibration, the sound forms the images, it is the geometry in the Universe. So our words must be full of infinite love, infinite sweetness, infinite harmony and infinite peace. Because arrhythmic words, even if they are not vulgar, are also offensive and destructive.

Every word loaded with anger, and every ironic word, is a murderous dagger that wounds the conscience of the neighbor in the World of the Mind. We see for example "The ships, although so large, and carried by impetuous winds, are governed by a very small rudder, wherever the one who governs them wants."

"So also the tongue is a small member and boasts of great things. Behold, a small fire can set a great forest on fire, the tongue is a fire, a world of evil... The tongue can bless or curse: "But no man can tame the tongue, which is an evil that cannot be restrained, full of deadly poison."
